Daddy Finger

Image
I dont think there is anyone with a toddler who has not heard the song "Daddy finger where are you? Here I am, Here I am, how do you do." My son loves the song and hums it and sings it most of the time.  Today I went to Starbucks and got a cake pop and gave it to my son and I didn't think twice about what was on it (and yes, how much sugar) . My son started singing the " Daddy finger where are you song while holding the cake pop. I mean, who does that? I told him take a bite and he said no and kept on singing... I looked at the cake pop and it did have a smiley face drawn on it and did remind me of one of the many video clips of that song with a set of hard candy or cake pops singing the song. Oh well, thanks kiddo! I ate the cake pop and smiled as I ate it.

Night Night Rambles

An ant stowed away from Illinois to Florida one summer and then wrote to his folks when he had arrived. Here's what he wrote Dear Grandma Hope this finds you doing well. I arrived just as I told you I would and the weather here is toasty. There are so many trees here and I'd tell you this, I've never seen so many cousins ahem, other ants. Grandma, they are not afraid, they come out in the daytime and at night. I had stopped one of the ants; I'd call him cousin Art and asked him why do you or wait,  why are you unafraid  of human giants? He told me, "if you're afraid, you go hungry, so we are bold and go out." The human giants clean more and the ones who dont we feast, it's not cold here so we work all year round." Grandma, I nodded at this knowledge I just heard and followed him around. You have to move here Grandma, there is so much here and wait. I have to add, the ants here can swim. I have to go Grandma. I'd write soon, bye

My Man Friday.

I have been absent for a while because we have been busy. I'd post about it soon. There has been a lot of claiming or taking a day of the week making it meaningful to specific causes and I am excited to have a  reason to claim a day. I'd like to honor my hubby for being a blessing in our life and I'd like to dedicate Friday to being a blessing to him aka My Man Friday. To do that I'd like to bless him by sharing prayer points I found on the Proverbs 31 Ministries website: https://proverbs31.org/read/devotions/full-post/2014/06/16/6-scriptural-prayers-for-husbands How do you celebrate the people who have blessed your life? Do share. I am using the app on my phone to post this; here's hoping  the link works. Happy Friday Ya'll!

World Cup Fever

The year is 2018, its June and the world or most of it is playing soccer in Russia. What am I to do? We had canceled our XM Radio in the car and for the duration of the games, we have turned it on.  Having watched Portugal play Spain I told myself, I'd catch all the games that I can. I watched Nigeria play against Croatia and I was a bit disappointed, however, there is hope because the Nigerian Super Eagles are a young team and they'd get better (I Hope) Argentina tied with Iceland, Poland lost to Senegal, Columbia lost too... I work at night and most of the teams I like or follow usually play during the hours I should be asleep. Why am I still up? Go to sleep Close your eyes and go to sleep. I'd try to but wait Egypt is playing Russia. Will Mo' Salah perform magic or will his injury be an issue? I am going to sleep. I am. I promise 😴

Father's Day & Birthday Celebration

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there! Most especially I want to wish my husband K a Wonderful Day, he gets to share the day with our toddler son Baby "O" who turns two on this day. How am I going to celebrate the day with these lovelies? Here is my plan; go to church, eat, play with Baby O, spend a few hours with the hubby when the baby takes his afternoon nap and then we all visit with some friends later in the day. It is 4:35a.m CT and I have just finished baking a cake :)  This is not Baby O's birthday cake because we are celebrating his birthday a week later, however, this is a "you and daddy day" cake I had used this recipe I used before but the cake turned out DENSE (I had no cake flour at home) so this time around I used buttermilk instead of milk in it. I poured out the batter into a bigger pan and saved a few scoops for cupcakes. This way, I can sample the cake when it comes out without my having to cut into the big cake. Boy
